Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Allure Beauty Box ships via USPS.  I actually don’t know where this box came from.  I used to be an Allure subscriber (YEARS ago), but haven’t resubscribed and didn’t get this sent as a review box. I can only guess that they had extra boxes and sent some to past subscribers to try and get them to resubscribe?

Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
The November 2023 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

Medik8 Crystal Retinal 3 Serum (30mL) ($64): Medik8 makes their Crystal Retinol in five different strengths. This box contains Crystal 3, which is for beginner use. It promises to deliver remarkable visible improvement in texture, brightness, firmness & clarity.  Most users, according to their website, have seen results by the end of just one tube. Fingers crossed I get great results like the pictures online.
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Paume All-In-One Cuticle & Nail Cream (22mL) ($28): This is such a great item for winter! It keeps your nail beds soft, helps with hang nails and soothes cuticles.  I will be keeping this at my desk with me at all times!
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Mudmasky Vitamin-Infused Scalp Serum (2oz) ($72): Maybe Allure sent me this box because they KNEW how much I needed this. It rejuvenates your scalp’s pH balance in 30 days which hals hair loss by up to 72% in just 12 days. Wait what?  I don’t know how exactly this does any of this, but it’s certainly worth a try!
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Belif Moisturizing Bomb Toner (5mL) ($1): This water-based toner is formulated with ceramide to keep the moisture barrier healthy and maintain moisture levels. It provides thorough hydration and nutrient-filled minerals for visibly tighter, smooth, supple skin. I find most toners to be quite drying so this is going to be a neat one to test out!
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Nativa Spa Quinoa Firming Body Lotion (30mL) ($1.88): This lotion visibly firms, and nourishes the skin.  The effects are not going to last forever, but I can see a difference and will be saving the rest for summer!
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Leave-In Treatment (30mL) ($2.90): This may be the perfect leave-in treatment because it seems to do it all. It helps protect against heat, strengthen roots, fights frizz and adds shine.
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
Cetaphil Healthy Renew Night Cream (10mL) ($4): Again great item for this time of year. This is a face cream, but I already have a great one that I use so I am going to use this on my hands. I am going through so much hand cream, but for whatever reason don’t remember to put a thick one on at night. I am putting this on my nightstand so I don’t forget!
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023
New Subscriber Bonus: Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops (40mL) ($35): What a great new subscriber bonus!  I used to use this stuff all the time and somehow stopped.  I will be starting to incorporate this in my nightly routine right away! It really does make my skin glow.
Allure Beauty Box Review - November 2023

All totaled (including the new subscribers bonus), my November 2023 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $208.78.  That is an AMAZING value and this was a great box. Still have no idea why Allure sent it, but I am thankful they did!!!

Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017
The August 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Caudalie Masque Instant Detox (15mL) ($7.80): The Instant Detox mask is “enriched with grape marc to detoxify, pink clay and coffee to clarify, and papaya enzymes for a boost of immediate radiance.”  It left my skin feeling incredibly smooth and looking better than it has in weeks.
Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017

~Vichy Mineral 89 Mineralizing Water + Hyaluronic Acid (5mL) ($2.95): This feels to me like a cross between a serum and a gel.  It’s certainly not the consistency you think of when you hear the word moisturizer.  It felt soothing and had a nice non-sticky consistency.

Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017

~Hey Honey I Peel Good Biomimetic Honey Peel Cream (15mL) ($32.50):  I had to check the price/size of this twice, but it’s right!  This is 1/2 the size of the full-size!  Wow!  I have used this in the past and have always been happy with the results.  It exfoliates, but it’s not harsh.  It’s a gentle peel that leaves your skin glowing.

Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017

~OUAI Haircare Finishing Creme (15mL) ($3.60): This is described as a lotion for your hair.  I have sampled it in a few boxes now and feel like it does a great job smoothing flyaways.  It’s also free of parabens, and OUAI doesn’t test on animals.

Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017

~Skinfix Facial Cleansing Cloths (3) ($1.50): LOVE!  These are gentle and so perfect for traveling or after a day at the beach.  They cleanse the skin and even remove waterproof mascara!

Allure Beauty Box Review - August 2017

~Rodial Smokey Eye Pen (Full-Size) ($21): Nothing against this particular eyeliner, but I don’t wear black eyeliner (or eyeliner in general).  It “set” quickly and I had no issues with smearing (it was also easy to remove).

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

The July 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~feel BRILLIANT bamboo charcoal facial sheet mask ($8.75): This is a charcoal sheet mask and is designed to pull out all the gunk from your face.  I think charcoal is my favorite beauty ingredient. I have had issues with charcoal products being too harsh, but that was not the case with this mask.  Not only did it clean my skin, it also left it feeling hydrated.

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection & Heat Protectant Creme (0.75oz) ($4.50):  I avoid heat styling for the most part (and even more so in the summer), so this little tube will last me for ages.  You apply it to damp hair, and it protects your hair from heat damage and also leaves it silky smooth.

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Redken Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray (1.7oz) ($3.90): My hair is naturally straight, so any product that aims to give it a boost is a win for me.  I sprayed my hair with this while wet put it up in a bun and took it down a few hours later.  It gave me a nice texture boost and a few waves, which were a combination of the spray and the wet hair bun.

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Wander Beauty Lipstick in Barely There (.07) ($15): Barely There is a pink shade with purple undertones.  If I wore lipstick, it’d be perfect for me.  It’s creamy and moisturizing and also cruelty-free!

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Beauty for Real Lip Revival Exfoliating + Hydrating Lip Scrub (10mL) ($9.30): This lip scrub has orange, vanilla, and cinnamon bark essential oils and smells just as good as you imagine.  It also does a great job exfoliating.  My lips are the smoothest they have been in ages.

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali (0.10oz) ($7.03): I know I have received this blush (it’s a medium rose pink) in a previous subscription box, which I can’t put my finger on which one.  It’s long-lasting and surprisingly pigmented.

Allure Beauty Box Review - July 2017

~Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial Oil (1.47mL) ($1.68): I didn’t even know this product existed!  It’s a lightweight oil, and it’s suggested that you mix it with your facial moisturizer in the morning and apply alone at night.  So far I am loving it.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017
The June 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Deco Miami Nail Laquer, Feeling Fuego ($12.50): Feeling Fuego looks coral in the bottle, but it’s more orange/red than pink in person.  Deco polishes are 8-free, TPHP-free, vegan and cruelty-free.  It’s highly pigmented and a fun color for summer.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

~John Frieda Frizz Ease KeraFlex Hairspray, Flexible Hold (2oz) ($1.54): This hairspray dried quickly and wasn’t sticky.  It held my pony in place without making it look stiff, so I was happy.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

~Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum (7.8mL) ($20.28): I double checked the calculation this, and it’s true, it really does have a value of $20+!  It’s not greasy and quickly gave my skin a big hydration boost.  It’s also supposed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and enhance skin tone and texture, but it hasn’t been long enough to see a difference.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

~Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer (10mL) ($17.16): This primer “blurs” imperfections and boosts the radiance of foundation.  It preps your skin for a smooth foundation application, but it can also be worn alone.  It didn’t quite do the job like Photoshop does (LOL), but it’s basically the next best thing.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

~Tata Harper Skincare Resurfacing Mask (7.5mL) ($14.50): YES!  Getting Tata Harper in subscription boxes thrills me beyond belief.  This mask is amazing.  It helps with dullness and uneven skin tone, minimizes the appearance or pores and helps with roughness and uneven texture.  I received this in my May PLAY! by Sephora box as well, which made me even more excited it was in here.  It’s that good!

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

~St. Tropez Bronzing Face Sheet Mask ($9): Neat!  This is a bronzing sheet mask which I never knew existed until now.  It’s actually a brand-new item!  You leave it on for five minutes for a light tan, 10 minutes for a medium tan, or 15 minutes for a dark tan.  I did the 10 minutes and was impressed with the even coverage.  If you aren’t a fan of tanning products, I suspect this will be an easy one to trade for something you do love.

Allure Beauty Box Review - June 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017
The May 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Skinfix Foaming Clay Cleanser (30mL) ($4.41): Skinfix’s Foaming Clay Cleansing is 99% natural and contains no fragrance, gluten, silicone, dairy, sulfates, parabens or phthalates. It’s thicker than most other cleansers, and I loved it!  I hope it pops up in another subscription box soon.

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017
~Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30 (15mL) ($5): This broad spectrum sunscreen has SPF30 and minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles.  If I can get SPF protection and look less wrinkly at the same time, that’s a win!

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017

~This Works Stress Check Breathe In (5mL) ($18.75): This is designed to refresh and calm your senses.  It’s a roll-on and is used whenever you feel like you need it.  Or before.  I think anything that helps you slow down and take a moment during a crazy day is great!

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017
~Kneipp Body Oil (Relaxing Lavender) (20mL) ($4.40):  I didn’t find this body oil overly slippery, and the scent wasn’t overpowering.  It has high-quality essential lavender oil and a high percentage of natural, intensively caring plant oils.

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017
~Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in Jody ($8.75):  Allure sent a Doucce palette back in January 2017, and I believe this is the second individual shade (the first was in October 2016) they have sent. The palette, which is also currently being sent to new subscribers when they sign up, is magnetic, so you can swap out shades and personalize it to best fit you. Jody is a shimmery pink’ish lavender shade with amazing pigment.

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - May 2017
~Luxie Rose Gold Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205 ($12): My box was missing the brush;(.  I don’t need another brush (I received this same brush in my May 2015 ipsy), however, I feel like I should let them know it was missing.  It’s a fluffy, super soft, blending brush that lets you evenly distribute color to your eyelids.

All totaled the May 2017 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $53.31.  This was another ho-hum box for me (although I did love seeing the Drunk Elephant brand), but June looks amazing!

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017
The April 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Dr. Brandt Skincare PoreDermabrasion™ Pore Perfecting Exfoliator (0.25oz) ($7.25): I love getting Dr. Brandt items in subscription boxes.  It is a “unique professional-grade physical and chemical exfoliator and pore perfector in one”.  I wouldn’t necessarily call it harsh, but if you have sensitive skin you may think it is.  I use it once a week and feel that it makes my skin smoother and brighter.

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017

~AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion (1.3fl.oz) ($10):  This lotion is has a nice light smell and is ultra hydrating without being at all greasy.  I did not expect to be this impressed by lotion, but I was wrong.

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017

~Skin & Co. Roma Truffle Therapy Eye Concentrate (5mL) ($22): This concentrate is designed to make skin look tight, smooth & delicately hydrated.  So far, so good!  You don’t need to use a ton either – a little goes a long way.  It seems to be tightening the skin under my eyes and doesn’t burn like some other eye products do when applied.

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017

~The BrowGal Dual-Sided Highlighter (Nude/Toffee) ($20): This is designed for brows, but can also be used as a shadow or even a coverup in a pinch.  This makes me happy since I just don’t have it in me to do my brows on a regular basis.

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017

~LaRitzy Cosmetics Lip Pencil (Cabernet) ($18): Gorgeous color and the staying power is amazing.  All LaRitzy products are made in the USA and are cruelty-free, paraben-free and gluten-free.

Allure Beauty Box Review - April 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017
This month’s “first look” didn’t seem to wow me like it normally does.

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017
The March 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~akar SKIN Ruby Tint Lip Butter (2mL) ($8): The color on this is gorgeous, but the sample is tiny!  The information booklet describes it as “silky and smooth, ” but I didn’t find that to be the case.  It wasn’t necessarily rough, but it wasn’t silky smooth either.  It was almost like a strawberry smoothie that needed a little more time in the blender.  It is super hydrating and 100% natural.

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

~John Frieda 7 Day Volume In Shower Treatment (1oz) ($2.50): I have gotten this in a few other boxes and have enjoyed using it.  It did give my hair more volume, and it’s easy to use (you just apply in the shower and rinse after a few minutes).
Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

~Londontown kur Nourishing Cuticle Oil ($18) and Londontown Lakur Enhanced Color ($16):  All subscribers will receive the cuticle oil and one of the following polishes: Love Bite #9 (cotton candy pink), Bespoked (blush), Cheerio (sheer pink), Princess Awaits (iridescent white with rose gold sparkles), or Fruit Tella (vibrant fuchsia).  I received Bespoked, and I love it. It’s a gorgeous sheer color, and the formula isn’t streaky at all.  The cuticle oil soaked in easily and I could see a difference after just a few uses.
Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

~Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum (7mL) ($2.85): This serum has a milk-like consistency and a light citrusy smell.  It absorbed very quickly and left my skin super soft.  I’m not sure this sample is going to be big enough to let me see any results, though.
Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

~Secret Invisible Solid Deodorant in Cool Waterlily (Trial Size) ($1): This isn’t listed in the information booklet, but there was a separate ad in the box for it.  I enjoy getting special extras like this and will toss it in my purse for emergencies.
Allure Beauty Box Review - March 2017

All totaled the March 2017 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $48.35.  That’s on the low side for Allure, and this box was just meh.  The majority of the value of this box ($34) is from the nail products, which I liked, but if you didn’t like those / don’t nm

This box looked just as impressive as it usually does.

Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017

The February 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (10 Pads) ($5): These pads are used to exfoliate, tone and brighten skin.  I used them after washing my face and was amazed (in a bad way) about how much dirt was still left on my face.  They are alcohol-free and safe for sensitive skin.  They didn’t irritate my face and didn’t leave it feeling tight or dry, like some products of this nature do.
Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017
~Cargo Colorstick in Champagne (Full-Size) (0.25oz) ($20): This color is stunning!  You can put it on your cheekbones, brow bones or anywhere you need a little glow.  The information booklet is right when they say it has no shimmer.  It doesn’t.  It just gives you a fantastic natural glow.

Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017
~GrandeLips Hydrating Lip Plumper (No Size Listed) (~$9): Wait, where has this stuff been hiding??  It not only plumped my lips (my top lip is really thin, but this filled it nicely) but also left them moisturized and glossy.  Plus it smells like cake.  I didn’t feel anything immediately when I applied it, but after a minute or so, the tingling started.  It wasn’t crazy (I have used way worse), but I could for sure feel it.  The reviews on this at Sephora were mixed, but I give it two thumbs up.  If only it lasted longer!
Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017
~Beautycounter Lengthening Mascara (Full-Size) ($29): Meh.  This darkened my lashes but didn’t give me the amazing length or volume I look for in a mascara.  It is all-natural and doesn’t contain parabens, which I do appreciate.
Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017

Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017
~Red Flower Moroccan Rose Tea Light Candle ($2.50): I thought this was a somewhat odd addition to this box, but I am always happy to get a candle. It’s a “damask-rose oil and patchouli oil” scent.  It is a floral scent, but it’s not overwhelming.

Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017
~Olay EYES Pro-Retinol Eye Treatment (0.23oz) ($13.80): The final item in the box was the Olay EYES Pro-Retinol Eye Treatment.  You apply it at night and will have “visibly smoother, younger-looking eyes in the morning”.  I didn’t notice a huge (any) difference, but I’ll give it some more time.
Allure Beauty Box Review - February 2017

All totaled the February 2017 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $79.30.  This box is well worth the $15, and I’ve found some new favorites thanks to this month’s box!

Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

My January 2017 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Doucce Freematic Eye Shadow ($35): This special-edition palette has four shadows to help you create the ultimate smokey eye.  The quad included a shimmery plum, a matte black, a pearly white and a slate gray.  The shadows are great and can be applied wet or dry, but what’s even better is that the palette is magnetic.  You can switch out the shades and put any magnetic shadow pot you want in it!

Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

~Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray (1.4oz) ($11): I love dry shampoo, and Oscar Blandi is one of my favorites.  It smells of “lemon verbena with a hint of sweet floral” and does a great job of soaking up excess oil.  It doesn’t leave any weird white residue either, which is key!
Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

~Sigma E70 Medium Angled Shading Brush ($16): This brush is synthetic and cruelty-free.  It’s firm and perfectly angled to get right in those eyelid creases.
Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

~Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion (0.25oz) ($9.88): This “helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations.”  I love getting items like these in subscription boxes.  I have tried this in the past and loved it.  It’s not crazy harsh, but it works!  It really works.  It gets rid of that top layer of dead skin and makes you glow!
Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

~Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Blush Basin ($8.99): This gives you the cover of a lipstick with the moisturizing power of a balm.  The packaging is made from 60% recycled plastic, and the lipstick is formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or petrolatum.  You know I don’t generally love lipstick, but I do love this.
Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

~Biobelle Facial Mask in #iwokeuplikethis ($4.99): This mask is free of GMO’s, parabens, gluten, and phthalate. It’s supposed to “enhance your skins natural glow.”  It was a tad drippy but smelled amazing.

~Swatches:
Allure Beauty Box Review - January 2017

All totaled my January 2017 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $85.86.  I added it up a few times to just make sure that was right because the value was just so amazing.  Once again, Allure knocked it out of the park this month!

The December 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “The Big Chill” and included the following items:

~liquid beautycleanser (Sample Size) (~$5): beautycleanser is the best way to clean your beautyblender.  If you don’t have a beautyblender, you can also use this to clean your brushes.  It gets rid of residue and germs and is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates.

Allure Beauty Box Review December 2016 Subscription Box

~TULA Advanced Neck Cream (0.5oz) ($23.53): I have been using this since it arrived and I love it!  I can see a big difference in the skin on my neck already.  It’s very moisturizing but absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel at all greasy.  I love it!

Allure Beauty Box Review December 2016 Subscription Box

~Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (5mL) ($2.67): This is billed as a miracle cream.  It smooths and moisturizes skin, but also acts as a makeup remover, post-shave soother, and baby cream.  I like it as a night cream and can’t figure out why I haven’t bought the full size of this yet.

Allure Beauty Box Review December 2016 Subscription Box

~Coastal Salt & Soul Heavenly Hand Cream – Mediterranean Citrus (30mL) ($10): I believe an assortment of scents were sent out, but I LOVE this Citrus.  It’s like being on vacation without leaving the house.

Allure Beauty Box Review December 2016 Subscription Box

~EWC Oh My Brow! Brow Highlighter Crayon ($19): This has appeared in a few subscription boxes over the last year, but I am okay with getting another.  It can be used on the brows, but can also be used as a highlighter on other areas – like your cheekbones and the corners of your eyes.  It’s very versatile and easy to use.

~SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense (No Size Listed) (~$10): This is an oil-free approach for aging skin prone to breakouts.  That’s me!  I haven’t been using it long enough to be able to see a difference, but it’s supposed to help with blotchiness, blemishes, and uneven skin tone.

Allure Beauty Box Review December 2016 Subscription Box

All totaled the December 2016 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $70.20.  That’s such an amazing value, and this was such an amazing box. I am thrilled!

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review

The November 2016 Allure Beauty Box contained the following items:

~Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline (0.17fl.oz) ($8.63): I believe this is the 3rd (maybe 4th?) Bulgaria perfume we have received from Allure and I think this one is my favorite.  It has notes of Bamboo, Nashi, Lotus Flower and Balsa Wood.  It’s amazing.  Literally amazing.  It starts out a bit heavy, but lightens up into a gorgeous floral – but not too floral – scent. Love!  As for the bottle, well that’s another story.  It’s gorgeous, but so hard to open.  You have to make sure you have it upright (the bottom has a flat spot so it can sit upright) and then pull slowly (but firmly) on the silver lid.  The entire silver section of the bottle come off.

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner (1.2g) ($20): I *think* this is a full-size!  It’s a liquid eyeliner that doesn’t flake or smear.  My hand isn’t all that steady when applying liner, but I feel like I can even do a decent job with this one.  It dries super fast too which is awesome.

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (0.125oz) ($2.49): Seche makes the best top coat!  I have been using it for years and was thrilled to see it in this box!  It dries your nails super quickly and helps protect from chipping.

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Red Flower Moisturizing Body Lotion Icelandic Moonflower (30mL) ($3.29): This is describes as smelling like a “herbal-floral” scent.  I would agree with that.  I thought it was moisturizing, but I did’t love the scent.  It’s made with certified organic ingredients, free of dyes, parabens, sulfates (sls), petrochemicals and synthetic preservatives and is also gluten free, vegan and cruelty free.

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Seche Premier Colour in Goddess ($6.99): I love this gold shimmery polish!  I thought the coverage was great and like the booklet says, you really do only need one coat!

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Bonvivant Botanical Mask Pack ($3): This mask is designed to plump, soften and moisturize.  My skin felt very moisturized after using and did feel “plumped”.  I would love to see how my skin looked if I used this on a regular basis.

Allure Beauty Box November 2016 Subscription Box ReviewAll totaled I came up with a value of $44.40 for the November 2016 Allure Beauty Box.  As usual I liked this box and thought the value was outstanding.

The October 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Season’s Best” and included the following items:

~Brigeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask (1oz) ($9): This mask is a subscription box favorite.  I have gotten it in multiple boxes and have always been happy with it.  It leaves my hair shiny and well-hydrated.  I also like that it works in as little as 5-10 minutes (although you can use for up to 30 minutes).

Allure Beauty Box October 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Spongellé Body Wash Infused Buffer (Freesia Pear) ($15): This smells amazing!  It was a special collaboration between Allure and Spongelle and was the reason this box was a tad delayed this month. It was worth it, though.  It has a light floral smell with a little bit of fruitiness. It’s a multi-use sponge that’s good for about 14 uses.

~Doucce Eyeshadow in Coppery-Brown ($8.75): This little shadow is adorable.  The color is a gorgeous and I am a huge fan. It’s highly pigmented and such a pretty shimmery copper color.  I love it.

Allure Beauty Box October 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Tatcha Deluxe Soothing Hand Cream (10mL) ($8): Subscribers will either receive this or Tatcha Deluxe Indigo Body Butter.  I am thrilled I received the hand cream. It made my skin soft without being at all greasy.  Good stuff.  Love seeing Tatcha in subscription boxes!

Allure Beauty Box October 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Mally Volumizing Mascara (Full-Size) ($20): This wasn’t clumpy but didn’t give me the volume I was hoping for.  It’s a great daytime mascara, but I wouldn’t use it for a night-out.

Allure Beauty Box October 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle ($10): Dry shampoo pops up in a ton of subscription boxes, but I love it.  It works as a grease buster, volumizer, and waterless cleanser all in one.  Makes your second-day hair look great.

Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe-sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.

Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review

My September Allure Beauty Box shipped via USPS. There really is no rhyme or reason as to when they ship during the month. Sometimes mine arrives the first few days of the month, sometimes it’s mid-month (like this month) and other months I don’t receive it until the last day of the month.

I just love opening Allure Beauty Box!

Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review

Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
The September 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Speed Dating” and included the following items:

~Pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk (30mL) ($7.20): Pur~lisse is a great brand, but it’s been in so many boxes that I don’t get too excited about it anymore.  This cleanser removes makeup, oil and dirt.  It can be used as a cleanser in the am or you can use it to remove makeup at night.  It doesn’t smell like much and works well for traveling (no need to pack both a makeup remover and a cleanser when you can use this).
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Supergoop Shine On Lip Screen SPF 50 (1.5mL) ($8.25): Okay, I love this lip screen (it can be worn alone or over lipstick).  It’s clear and glossy and will protect your lips from the sun. However, this sample is so tiny!  Plus, mine left like it was only half full?  I doubt it will last me more than a few days (full disclosure – I use lip balm / gloss like a manaic).
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Eau Thermale Avene PhysioLift Eyes (2mL) ($5.86): This is a wrinkle smoothing eye treatment.  I have used it in the past and love it for puffiness.  A little goes a long way and it feels so good going on.
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
~GrandePrimer (No Size on Package) (~$5): The information card indicated that the box would include GrandeMascara, but I received GrandePrimer.  It’s designed to boost your natural lashes while immediately improving lash appearance.  You use it under mascara (not alone unless you want white lashes) which I found a little awkward.  It felt a little sticky and my mascara didn’t glide on.  Maybe I didn’t let it dry long enough?
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Orly Breathable Treatment + Color Nail Polish in Beauty Essential ($8.99): There were a variety of colors sent out (10 I believe), but I received “Beauty Essential” which is a red / coral creme.  You guys.  This polisj is amazing.  I used ONE coat and my nails look amazing (well, they will once I clean up the edges).  I am blown away by this.  It’s the best polish I have found in a while.
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Bulgari Omnia Coral (5mL) ($8.25): This perfume has notes of Bergamot, Goji Berries, Hibiscus Flower, Water Lily, Pomegranate and Cedarwood. I picked up more fruity than floral and really enjoyed this scent. As much as I liked this scent though, the bottle is even better.  Isn’t it gorgeous?  Opening it is a tad tricky (there are instructions on the inside of the box), so be careful.  It’s important to make sure you know which end is up (there is a small flat part on the bottom) and then hold the clear glass part and pull up on the decorative top part.  It’s an open bottle (there isn’t a sprayer) so you want to make sure not to spill.
Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review

Allure Beauty Box September 2016 Subscription Box Review

All totaled the September 2016 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $37.69.  That’s not a “wow” value for them by any means, but I am just so excited by this amazing nail polish discovery!

Did you get the September 2016 Allure Beauty Box?  What’d you think? Did you love the nail polish as much as I did? If you are interested in ordering (your subscription will begin with the “first available box”) you can get signed up here!

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe-sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.

This review is on the limited edition Teen Vogue + Allure Beauty Box Back to School Box. It was a one-time purchase of $39.95 and is still available for sale while supplies last.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review
The Teen Vogue + Allure Beauty Box Back to School Box shipped via USPS and took just about a week to arrive from the date I ordered it.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

Teen Vogue + Allure Beauty Box Back to School Box included the following items:

~Foreo LUNA Play – Sunflower Yellow ($39), Foreo Day Cleanser (15mL) ($4.50) and Foreo Night Cleanser (15mL) ($4.50): These items actually arrived in the May Allure Beauty Box, so I will likely end up giving mine to a friend (or adding them to an upcoming giveaway?).  The LUNA Play is good for 100 uses, so about 2-3 months.  I am not overly excited that this is disposable, but it’s also going to get gunky eventually and need to be tossed, so I get it.  You squeeze it to turn on, and it lightly vibrates on your face.  It’s not harsh and won’t irritate your skin. The box also included two Cleansers that can be used along with the LUNA Play.  The “Day” Cleanser is a gentle face wash that cleanses without leaving skin tight and dry.  The “Night” Cleanser is a deep cleaning face wash that cleanses skin and removes makeup. I prefer the night one because I feel like my skin is getting cleaner (it has little scrubbers in it), but both work (and smell) great.

~pur~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher (Full-Size) ($16): This is another favorite of mine!  It’s creamy and hydrating and reminds me of my beloved Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1.  You don’t need to reapply this constantly either which is key.  Although you might want to because it feels so good.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

~Freeman – Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask 0.5oz Sachet ($1.99): I love charcoal skin care products so I couldn’t wait to try this one out.  It feels like a soft sugar scrub, and I found it to be very warming on my skin.  You only need to leave it on for about 7 minutes (I like masks that don’t require a lot of commitment), and it works to absorb oil and impurities without over-drying.   I could actually feel it working.  It almost felt tingly at times?  I loved it!

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review
~EWC Oh My Brow! Brow Highlighter Crayon ($19) & EWC Ready, Set, Brow Gel ($19): We actually got the Brow Highlighter in the July POPSUGAR Must Have Box, and my neighbor is obsessed (I gave her the one my SIL got and didn’t want).  It’s a beautiful shimmery gold color and works on your brow bone, on the inner corners of your eyes, on your cheekbones and even on your lips.  The gel shapes and holds your brows in place.  I love this.  My brows do get crazy and this is a good way to keep them in line.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

~American Eagle Aerie Body Lotion (Be Sunnie) ($6.95): I didn’t even know that American Eagle had a bath and body line!  And I can’t believe I didn’t because this stuff smelled amazing.  Like incredible.  It’s a blend of sparkling citrus and sea salt and is described as “a swirl of fresh lemonade, summer flowers & ocean breezes”.  I thought it smelled a bit like apples myself?  Either way, it’s awesome. It’s also made without parabens, phthalates, gluten and isn’t tested on animals.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

~It’s a 10 Haircare Miracle Leave-in Product (2oz) ($9): Who doesn’t love this stuff? It’s a 10-in-1 product that repairs dry damaged hair, adds shine, smoothes & controls frizz, seals & protects hair color, detangles, prevents split ends, stops hair breakage, creates silkiness, enhances natural body, flat iron & thermal protector.  It works (I like it best for shine, detangling and smoothing) and smells great!

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review

~WetBrush Pop Fold ($9.99): Ohhh, I have a smaller wet brush (actually Allure just sent one this month too), but this is a larger foldable one. Perfect for traveling!  Somehow I lose combs and brushes while traveling so this is going in my travel bag and staying there.  It brushes out tangly wet hair without pulling or tugging. If you have never tried a wet brush, I totally recommend checking them out.

~Jamberry Nail Wraps (Sculpted) ($15): I JUST painted my nails this morning, but I can’t wait to get these fun marble inspired wraps on my nails.  It takes a bit of time to apply them, but using a hair dryer to soften them will make them wrap around your nail much easier.

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review
~Stickers: I know you are supposed to decorate your box with these, but I don’t know what I would do with my box after so I am going to use them in my planner.  The silvery looking ones are letters (two three full sets) and then there are two sets of fun allure stickers.  LOVE!

Teen Vogue + Allure Back to School Box Review
All totaled I came up with a value of $144.93 for the Teen Vogue + Allure Beauty Box Back to School Box.  That is an amazing value for $39.95, and this was just an all-around fantastic box. Seriously, if you are looking for a great Back to School / Back to College gift, this would be perfect!

What do you think of the box?  If you are interested in ordering, the Teen Vogue + Allure Beauty Box Back to School Box is still available while supplies last!

I looked at the spoilers for this one, but they didn’t show the bonus goodies that were in my box.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review

The August 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Wake Up Call” and included the following items:

~Freeze 24*7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum (7mL / 0.23fl.oz) ($52.90): This “groundbreaking” serum is designed to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.  The value is incredible and this stuff does work (it was in a BOXYCHARM a few months ago).  It will smooth out your under eye area for a few hours and then, over time, reduces puffiness and softens lines.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~pur-lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer (15mL) ($20): This is a lightweight lotion for normal, dry and sensitive skin types.  It’s very thin and smells a bit floral.  It’s not greasy or oily, but also did the job nicely.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Supergoop!® Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 (15ml) ($6): This was in my Birchbox last month and I loved it.  I’m not done with mine yet so I am going to pass this one on to a friend. It “sets” your makeup in place while also minimizing shine. The best part though is the built in SPF.  If you forget to put it on in the morning and then realize you need it, this is what you need.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Mally Mattewand Eye Brightener (Matte Light) (Full-Size) ($25): This is a dual-ended pencil and shadow brush in one. It helps brighten your eyes after a late night.  It’s easy to use and is total quick fix. It won’t make you feel less tired, but it’ll make you look less tired.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencil in Pebble Beach (0.028oz) ($12.60): This is billed as an eyeliner, but it’s a fairly thick pencil, so you could probably get away with it making it work as a shadow too.  Just don’t wait too long to blend because it “sets” quickly.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Wet Brush Midi Brush ($8.99): Wet brushes are amazing!  I have one that I use every day.  I don’t know how long you are supposed to keep brushes for, but I am probably past the limit with my old one. It has long plastic bristles and easily untangles hair.

Allure Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Bonus Item: Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner (Honey Treasures) (1.7fl.oz/each) (~$2): This isn’t on the information card, but the box also included these shampoo and conditioner samples. They smell good and will be perfect for traveling.

Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review

The July 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “On the Hunt” and included the following items:

~Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (0.24fl.oz) ($14.88): This peach colored serum reduces the appearance of wrinkles, hydrates and brightens. It didn’t leave my face oily or slippery. It soaked in quickly and left it feeling soft and smooth. It takes a few weeks for the wrinkle-fighting ingredients to start working their magic, but, for now, I am really happy with the way it’s making my skin feel.

Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review

~GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment (.3oz) ($17): This is an acne-fighting facial mask for combination skin.  That’s totally me!  GlamGlow is one of my favorite items to get in a subscription box.  It unclogs pores and also helps to clear up and prevent breakouts.  The smell isn’t my favorite (it’s a eucalyptus scent), but it’s not awful either.  Over, this is fantastic and I am going to end up buying the full-size of this.
Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Super Strawberry ($5.67): I can’t find a size on this, so I am estimating it to be 1/3 of a full-size chubby stick. It might even be 1/2 of the full-size.  This is a cross between a lip crayon and a lip balm. It’s sheer, but still gives you a bit of color and while it’s moisturizing, it’s not quite as moisturizing as a balm.  But when you just need that hint of color on the go, this is where it’s at.
Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review
IMG_0350
~La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream (.11oz) ($18.70): La Mer in a subscription box has me like !  This facial moisturizer is supposed to deeply hydrate skin without making it feel slick. It smells a little powdery and I found that a little goes a long way.  I will use every single last bit of this!
Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (0.25fl.oz) ($8): This is a primer for foundation and concealer that doesn’t clog your pores.  I like moisturizer + this + bb cream.  It might not work for everyone, but I have found that it works well for me.
Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Nordstrom Sale Details: This month’s box was a collaboration of sorts with the folks at Nordstrom.  The booklet included a few #nsale sneak peeks including some gift with purchase offers, sale information and a calendar showing what beauty events are happening at Nordies during the sale.  There is a great GlamGlow deal that I will be taking advantage of.

~Allure Beauty Box Exclusive: Nordstrom is also giving all Allure Beauty Box subscribers a FREE Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact SPF 35 just for stopping by the Bobbi Brown counter at any Nordstrom before August 16th.  It doesn’t say what size it is, but I will be sure to update once I go snag mine.

Allure Beauty Box July 2016 Subscription Box Review

All totaled I came up with a value of $64.25 for the July 2016 Allure Beauty Box.  The value was incredible and this box was amazing.  I loved the collaboration with Nordstrom!

Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
The June 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Beauty and the Beach” and included the following items:

~Kardashian Beauty Cabana Bronze Matte Bronzer (.02oz) ($2.02): Ohh, this is nice.  Like real nice.  The colors are shimmery and soft and super wearable.  I love this!
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Klorane Shampoo with Mango Butter (100mL) ($5): I am so excited that this sample is such a great size. First of all this smells amazing.  It smells like mangos and makes me feel like I am putting a smoothie on my hair.  And I like it.  I need to get the conditioner to match this because I would love for my hair to smell like this all day long.
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Leaders Cosmetics Orange SuperFood Sheet Mask ($6): Subscribers will receive either the 7 Wonders Himalayan Camellia Pore Minimizing Mask, the Orange SuperFood Coconut Gel Mask, the Tomato SuperFood Coconut Gel Mask or the 7 Wonders Tundra Cranberry Anti-Aging Mask. I received the Orange SuperFood Mask which is designed to brighten the skin and improves skin texture by cleansing and tightening the pores. I found it to be messier than a lot of other sheet masks I have tried, but it was fabulous.  I left it on for about 30 minutes and my skin felt brighter and calmer.  My skin felt a little warm after, but nothing irritating!  I may need to trade for some of the other masks so I can try them all.
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Purlisse Blue Lotus Eye Adore Serum (7mL) ($30.33): This serum is designed to soften undereye skin and, in time, will smooth out fine lines.  My eyes were really puffy this morning so I gave it a try. It did “depuff”, but it wasn’t as soothing / cooling as I hoped it would be.  It wasn’t irritating either though.  It actually didn’t feel like much of anything.  Still, it did what it promised, so that’s all that matters.
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Purlisse Blue Lotus SPF 30 Essential Day Moisturizer (15mL) ($20): This is a lightweight lotion with a built in SPF protection.  It absorbed quickly, smells pretty good and will be handy in my bag for summer.
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Julep Nail Polish (Katie) ($14): Subscribers will either receive Katie, April or Cassidy in their boxes this month.  I received Katie which is an “orchid iridescent chrome”.  I believe I already have this shade (I have a ton of Julep polishes), but I do love it.  It’s perfect for summer and only takes two coats to cover.
Allure Beauty Box June 2016 Subscription Box ReviewAll totaled the June 2016 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $77.35.  That’s an absolutely amazing value for $15 and, as usual, I am beyond impressed with this box!

Did you get the June 2016 Allure Beauty Box?  What’d you think? If you are interested in ordering (your subscription will begin with the July box I believe) you can get signed up here!

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review
I have been hearing that some subscribers who subscribed after seeing the spoilers for this May box have learned that their subscriptions will actually be starting in June (and not May).  I have been a monthly subsciber since they switched over to Allure (from BeautyBar) so I didn’t have this issue, but let me know if this happened to you.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

The May 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Hot Summer” and included the following items:

~Foreo LUNA Play ($39): I actually own the full-sized LUNA so I was curious to see how this compared. From what I can tell it’s exactly the same, but smaller.  It’s gentle enough to use daily and has an internal battery that vibrates to help “remove gunk”.  It’s got enough “juice” for 100 uses and then it’s time to toss.  I wish there was a way to change the battery because it seems like an expensive item to have to toss after about 2-3 months (depending on how often you use it).  Still, I am happy to have it and plan to use it for traveling.  I love the way it makes my skin look and feel.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Foreo Day Cleanser (15mL) ($4.50) and Foreo Night Cleanser (15mL) ($4.50): The “Day” Cleanser is a gentle face wash that cleanses without leaving skin tight and dry.  The “Night” Cleanser is a deep-cleaning face wash that cleanses skin and removes makeup.  The day one (it has a little citrus scent to it) is a smooth cleanser while the night one has little scrubbies in it.  I liked the night one better than the day (it just made my skin feel cleaner), but both seemed to do the job.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Equitance Brightening Serum + Spot Corrector (7g) ($29.17): This serum “minimizes the appearance of spots caused by acne, hormonal changes and sun exposure”.  I have some dark spots I’d love to get rid of, so we’ll see how this spot treatment works.  According to the information booklet some people can see results in less than a month.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Cotz Flawless Complexion SPF 50 (5g) ($1.44): This is a tinted noncomedogenic mineral sunscreen.  It’s thinner than a BB cream which I really like! It’s also not greasy and soaked into my skin quickly.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in Rose Naturelle (1g) (~$4): I estimated the size on this one and guessed that it was about 1/3 of a full-size.  The color is described as “tawny-pink” and I’m just so-so on it.  I’m not really into lipstick as it is, but this just wans’t a color I loved.  I did like the formula though.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara ($13.71): I have mentioned it before, but I am on complete mascara overload here so I have been passing my mascaras on to friends. This has an interesting candy corn shaped brush that is meant to target the small inner-corner lashes.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Lauren B. Nail Polish in Santa Barbara Surf (Full-Size) ($18): This polish is a “glossy green-blue” that’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin and camphor.  It’s so pretty for the season and this is going on my nails this weekend.

Allure Beauty Box May 2016 Subscription Box Review

All totaled the May 2016 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $114.32.  That is a HUGE value for a $15 box and I am thrilled with it!

My April Allure Beauty Box shipped via USPS. It was super delayed this month (at least compared to when I normally get it) and I am not too sure why.  At least I wasn’t until I started checking out the box more.

The April 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Up Close and Personal” and included the following:

~DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer (0.5oz) ($25): This is designed to minimize your fine lines and pores instantly.  I tried it as soon as I opened the box and you know what, I think it did make my pores a little smaller.  I may be picking up a full-size of this down the road.
Allure Beauty Box April 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick (Mama Bean) (~$6): According to the information card I should have received a Mally Evercolor Shaping Lip Pencil ($9 value). Instead, I received a Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick, which we actually received from Allure last November as well (this sample is smaller though).  I actually prefer this to the lip pencil, however, I wish they would have e-mailed or added a note in here about the swap.  I am wondering if this is why my box was delayed?  Maybe they ran out of product and had to wait to ship until they found a substitution?

Allure Beauty Box April 2016 Subscription Box Review
~L’Occitane Cleansing And Softening Shower Oil With Almond Oil (2.5oz) ($9.50): This smells amazing (I love the smell of almonds) and really that’s all I look for in a shower gel.  It leaves my skin feeling soft – but not oily too.
Allure Beauty Box April 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Fekkai Glossing Creme Styling Creme (2oz) ($8): I used to buy this all the time, but with subscription boxes I don’t need to buy hair products as much as I used to.  It doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves it glossy and tames all my flyaways too.  Good stuff.
Allure Beauty Box April 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Bvlgari Goldea Perfume (5mL) ($11.20): This has notes of orange blossom, ylang-ylang, jasmine and patchouli.  It’s too heavy for me, but this little bottle is awesome. Getting perfume samples in mini versions of full-sized bottles is the best.
Allure Beauty Box April 2016 Subscription Box Review
~L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original (Full-Size) ($5.60): I have so many mascaras going (aka open) right now that I have to pass this on to a friend.  L’Oreal is a great drugstore brand mascara though so this is a win.

Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review

The March 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Talking Dirty” and included the following purification treatments:

~DP Hue ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse) (1oz) ($4.12): I know people swear by apple cider vinegar for their hair, but I have never tried it myself.  This rinse gently removes buildup from hair without stripping away its natural oils. It doesn’t smell good, but it works! My hair was clean and SO shiny! I am not 100% sure how often this is supposed to be used (once ever other week sounds reasonable), but I am adding it to my must-have product list.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Macadamia Professional Ultra Rich Moisture Cleansing Conditioner (2fl.oz) ($7.58): This is a “cleansing conditioner” and it works to gently remove buildup while softening and defrizzing.  My hair isn’t exactly fine, but it’s not super thick either and that is the type of hair this was designed for.  I think I will pass this along to one of my curly-haired cousins.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Julep Konjac Cleansing Face Sponge ($12): I was so excited when I heard there was going to be a Julep konjac sponge in this month’s box.  They last for 3-months (although I tend to toss mine sooner) and can be used alone to exfoliate or with your normal cleanser. I use it with my cleanser and love how soft it makes my face feel.  My only issue with this is storage.  How do you store your konjac sponges?
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder (1g / 0.035oz) ($4.12): This powder sets your makeup and gives it a matte look.  It looks white, but goes on transulcent. You don’t need a ton of this to work either.  A little goes a long way.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Nunzio Saviano Anti-Frizz Sheets ($3): I didn’t even know anti-frizz sheets for your existed.  I like the idea of it for those times when you don’t want to use any more products in your hair, but I don’t know if it’s something I would personally go purchase on my own. They do work though.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Cargo Blush (Catalina) (0.0525oz) ($4.27) / Cargo Bronzer (Medium) (0.0525oz) ($4.91) Duo: Totally love!  It’s a bronzer / blush in one.  Both colors are very wearable and I love that they did a duo and not just one or the other.  This will be a great addition to my overnight / travel bag.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box Review
~L’Oreal Pro-Last Lipcolor (Full-Size) ($12.99): The last item in the box was a bonus item from L’Oreal.  It’s a balm and lip color in one. You apply the color and then use the balm to lock it in and leave your lips feeling super moisturized. I am going to look for this at the store and see what the other shades look like in person because I really liked it.
Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Subscription Box ReviewAll totaled I came up with a value of $52.99 for the March 2016 Allure Beauty Box. Once again Allure knocked it out of the park.  I absolutely love their boxes and think they do an incredible job for the cost!

Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box ReviewThe February 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Winter Gold” and included the following items, referred to by Allure as “the Holy Grail of winter skin care”:

~Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba (5mL / 0.17fl.oz) ($6.33): I don’t know what I love more.  The scent of this or the adorable little bottle.  It’s a blend of passion fruit, bigarade orange, passion flower, gardenia, cocoa beans and vetiver.  It’s amazing.  And so is that little bottle.  It was, however, the most difficult item to open ever.  LOL. The information booklet even tells you not to feel dumb if you can’t figure it out!  Be careful when you open it because it’s a dabber (i.e. it’s open and doesn’t have a sprayer) and could spill everywhere.  To open it, hold the glass part of both sections of the bottle and then gently pull.  The bottom has a little flat part so you should be able to tell which way to hold it.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Hello Breath Freshener “Pink Grapefruit Mint” (.24 fl.oz / 7mL) ($3.79): This is not only cute, but it works.  We had pasta for dinner the other night and this fixed garlic breath right away.  Boxes will contain either Mojito Mint, tart Pink Grapefruit Mint or Supermint.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box Review

~Pur-lisse Daily Lip Moisturizer (.38oz / 11g) ($16): Based on the spoiler picture I expected this to be a serum or a small moisturizer, but a full-size lip product is even better!  It doesn’t smell like anything, and it soothes rough, chapped lips instantly.  It’s just straight up amazing.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream (1fl.oz / 30mL) ($3.33): This stuff is THICK, but it works like a charm.  I have been applying tons of lotion lately and nothing seems to be doing the trick. This stuff did though, and I didn’t feel like I needed to reapply after 15 minutes.  It’s unscented and contains coconut & sunflower oil, aloe, rice-bran extract and vitamin E. All of the ingredients are all-natural and paraben free.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me. Wash (40mL) ($5.20) and  Hydrate-Me.Rinse ($5.20): The information booklet says this smells “sweet and a little tart, like lemon cake”.  I am not sure which I picked up from it, but it wasn’t lemon.  I did think my hair felt extra soft from these though, and I will happily use my entire samples.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box Review
~Lancôme Visionnaire Nuit Beauty Sleep Perfector Advances Multi-Correcting Gel-in-Oil (3mL / .101oz) ($5.23): This is “gel-in-oil” which to me felt like a combination of a serum and a gel.  It has the consistency of a gel but felt like a smooth serum going on.  I kind of love it.  It really did make my skin look glowing and has a nice (very light) floral scent.
Allure Beauty Box February 2016 Subscription Box ReviewAll totaled I came up with a value of $45.08 for the February 2016 Allure Beauty Box.  Believe it or not, that’s not even a huge value for an Allure box!  I absolutely loved this box (and all their boxes) and thought they knocked it out of the park once again!

Inside

The January 2016 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Beauty and Brains” and included the following:

~DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (1oz) ($5.50):  This is a deep cleansing oil-based facial cleanser for normal to dry skin.  It’s great for Michigan winters!  It removed dirt (and even makeup) and you only need to use like a quarter sized amount so this little bottle will go a long way.

~Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Lavender + Sage (0.5oz) ($2.25): I want to love this natural deodorant, I really do, but I cannot get into the apply with your fingers part.  It works and I like the smell and all that, but I just don’t like the application part.  However, Schmidt’s does now have a stick deodorant, so hopefully that will appear in a subscription box soon!

~Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Black Navy (Full-Size) ($20): As you know I am not huge on eyeliner, but I do like the brush on the end of this.  I did test the liner and thought it applied smoothly and evenly with little effort on my part.

Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Black Navy

~Skinn Cosmetics Caviar Lip Scream in Ruby (5mL) ($22): This is SO pigmented.  I expected it to be more of a gloss than a stain, but it’s for sure a stain/lipstick.  It’s not heavy though!  The information card does note that this will wear off from the middle of your lips first, so you may end up with a ring of color around the outside of your lips.

~Derma E Hydrating Night Creme (0.5oz / 14g) ($7.25): According to the information card this smells faintly of apricots, but I didn’t pick that up.  I didn’t think it smelled like much of anything. t thought it made my skin feel softer by morning and didn’t seem too thick or heavy.

~Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Champagne Problems ($15) (Full Size): Champagne Problems is a metallic gold foil. And I love it! Allure Beauty Box December 2015 Subscription Box

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.  July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”.  Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box. I would have just thought it was getting better.

The December 2015 Allure Beauty Box theme was “Gift in a Box” and included the following items:

~Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (50mL) ($9): I am a dry shampoo addict!  I try not to wash my hair daily so dry shampoo saves my hair from looking like an oil slick.  This has a light floral scent and does not leave white reside or flakes in your roots.

~Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in Inky Purple (Full Size) ($10): Meh. I know most people love eyeliner, but it’s not for me.  I think the purple color is fun, and I will pass it along to a friend.  The information card warns that the caps of these don’t stay on well, so take note if you plan to carry this in your purse.

~Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Oil-Free (.25fl.oz) ($9): Smashbox Primer is an Allure Best of Beauty winner.  It goes on under concealer and doesn’t clog pores.  It’s super lightweight and, once on, doesn’t really feel like much.  I use it with about half my normal amount of moisturizer and have been happy with the coverage.

~Skinceuticals C E Ferulic (~$20): This container doesn’t list a size, but I am estimating it to be about 4mL, which works out to just about $20.  The consistency is a cross between oil and water and has an odd smokey scent.  It goes away, but I thought I should mention it.  It’s designed to protect against free radicals and therefore, wrinkle sand sun damage.  The information card says it’s been a Best of Beauty winner multiple times and is a favorite of the 35+ club in the office.  Hello, that’s me!  I can’t wait to see a difference.  Note: The information card indicated that subscriptions would receive one of the following SkinCeuticals products: C E Ferulic, Resveratrol B E, Hydrating B5 Gel or Blemish + Age Defense.

~Eau Thermale Avene Body Oil (50mL / 1.69 fl.oz) ($6):  I don’t use a body oil on a regular basis, so this kind of feels like a special treat. It works nicely on rough spots and makes the rest of your skin smooth and almost shimmery.  It smells light and grassy, which I wasn’t really expecting.  I was thinking it’d be more floral?

~Illume Blackberry Absinthe Candle (1oz) ($2.10): This is a fruity scent, but the sandalwood, amber and patchouli make it much deeper.  I am happy with all candles so yeah, I love this!

~Bonus: ChapStick Total Hydration: The box also included a bonus Chapstick Total Hydration. It’s not listed in the information booklet, but there is a separate card in the box that notes it’s a sponsored product.  I always welcome sponsored products because they really just are bonus items and this totally didn’t take away anything from the box.

Chapstick Total Hydration

All totaled the December 2015 Allure Beauty Box had a value of $56.10 (that doesn’t include the bonus ChapStick). That is an amazing value and I can’t say enough good things about this box!  They totally deliver!

The November 2015 Allure Beauty Box theme was “The Glam Life” and included the following:

~Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick (Berryish) (.09oz / 2.5g) (~$12): Allure released this as their first spoiler for the month.  Ten different shades were sent out and I received a great deep pink.  It’s super glossy and shiny, but not sticky at all!  My brush was a little hard at first, but it softened up after I used it a few times.

Mally Lip Gloss

~L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil (4mL / 0.1fl.oz) ($10.60): I have been testing lots of serums and oils lately and have found that I prefer serums.  Oils just don’t do it for my face and seem to dry my skin out (I realize this makes no sense).  But the information card says that if you have been a holdout to oils this might be the one for you.  I am going to try it until the bottle runs out and then decide.

L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil

~Klorane Floral Eye Make-Up Remover Lotion (25mL) ($2.50): I don’t wear a ton of eye make-up, so I will likely end up passing this on to a friend. I do like the brand though and thought the scent was nice.

Klorane Floral Eye Make-Up Remover Lotion

~Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender de Provence Bath & Shower Gel (50mL) ($6): I feel like we don’t get enough shower gels in subscription boxes so I am always happy to see one in a box. This smells great – it’s a nice mix of lemon and floral and left my entire shower smelling awesome.

Allure Beauty Box November 2015 Subscription Box Review
Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender de Provence Bath & Shower Gel

~Hanae by Hanae Mori (1.2mL / .04fl.oz) ($2.21): Oh my goodness I love this!  It’s fruity and sweet, but sandalwood and patchouli tone it down a notch.  It smelled a little old lady’ish at first, but was much better on my skin than in the air. I may put this one on my list for Santa.

Allure Beauty Box November 2015 Subscription Box Review
Hanae by Hanae Mori

~Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Oil-Free Volumiser (40mL) ($10.99): This serum boosts volume without weighing down your hair.  It smells awesome, but is super sticky.  They also note in the information card that you want to apply this to damp hair and then blow-dry. Allure notes that it has a tendency to weigh down your hair when you air dry it.

Allure Beauty Box November 2015 Subscription Box Review
Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Oil-Free Volumiser (40mL) ($10.99)

All totaled I came up with a value of $44.30 for the November 2015 Allure Beauty Box.  I thought this box was a great value and I thought that the variety it included was amazing. It had almost a product from every category (perfume, hair, skincare, bath / body and make-up) which I loved!

Inside the Book

The October 2015 Allure Beauty Box theme was “New Habits” and included the following items:

~Bumble and Bumble All-Style Blow Dry Cream (.5fl. oz) ($3.50): This cream is designed to smooth hair without leaving it flat.  It’s more liquidity than your traditional cream product and has a light floral scent.  According to the information card the key is to use more of this than you think you need.  So I did!  I was happy that it did everything it promised and think this will be a winter go-to item.  It extends the life of your blowout and also works to volumize your hair.

Bumble and Bumble All-Style Blow Dry Cream

~Rituals Ginkgo’s Secret Ginseng & Ginko Biloba Hand Balm (2.5 fl.oz) ($17): This is a very thick, non-greasy hand cream.  It absorbs much faster than you’d expect and leaves skin super soft. I expected the scent to be strong, but it’s actually quite nice and light.  It’s described as a “green” scent and I guess I can see that.

Rituals Ginkgo’s Secret Ginseng & Ginko Biloba Hand Balm

~Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil (3mL) ($4.80): Subscribers this month will receive either the Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil or the Daily Repair Treatment Oil.  I received the Clarifying Oil which is actually a great fit for me.  It’s designed to lock in skin’s moisture, kill acne-causing bacteria and reduce redness.  The card recommends using this for breakouts and I will be doing just that.  It seems odd to treat a breakout with oil, but heck, why not give it a try?

Allure Beauty Box October 2015 Subscription Box Review
Jouer Daily Clarifying Treatment Oil

~Red Flower Lymphatic Phytopower Sea Cleanser and Mask (32.5mL) ($5.25): I really thought this was a conditioner or a lotion, but it’s actually a cleanser that doubles as a moisturizing mask.  It’s actually a really cool product. I am planning on using it mainly as a mask because it left my skin glowing the first time I tried it, but I am sure that I will use it as a cleanser now and then as well.

Allure Beauty Box October 2015 Subscription Box Review

~Cargo Eye Shadow – Oz (0.12oz / 3.5g) ($16): Oz is a warm golden yellow shimmer.  Subscribers will receive ether Flint (a grayish brown matte), Pasadena (matte pink), Greenbay (a light olive green) or the Oz color I received.  The yellow isn’t as bright as it appears, but it doesn’t do much for me.  It actually makes me look kind of ill.  I will be passing this along to a friend who can wear it better than I can.

Allure Beauty Box October 2015 Subscription Box Review

~Kryolan Lipstick Matt in Aurora, Eos and Nike (~$5): I love lipstick samples like this.  I prefer the little pots much more than an actual lipstick because I feel like I can get as much or as little color as I want.   These are super pigmented so a little goes a LONG way.  The Aurora is a cranberry red, Eos is a shocking tangerine and Nike is a straight-up fuchsia.  I have to say, Aurora is my favorite!

All totaled I came up with a value of $51.55 for the October 2015 Allure Beauty Box.  As usual the value was incredible and I don’t have a bad thing to say about this box.  If you are on the fence about this one, I highly recommend getting signed up!

The September 2015 Allure Beauty Box included the following items:

~Kaplan MD Cellular Rejuvenating Concentrate (3mL/0.10 fl.oz) ($17): My first thought was please do not let me fall in love with this because it’s $170 for 1 ounce.  Ouch!  I hate to admit it, but it made my skin feel like silk after I put it on.   It works to reduce wrinkles and increases collagen and you just need a tiny bit to cover your face.  I guess that makes it a tad more attractive knowing that the container will last for ages.

~Soap & Glory Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss in Pinkwell (4mL/0.13fl.oz) ($5.60):  I can’t say that this plumped my lips, but I thought the tingly part was fun.  The information booklet describes it like pop rocks on your lips and that’s pretty accurate. It didn’t hurt – it was just different.  The gloss itself is super shiny (and a little sticky) and smells like chocolate.  I pretty much love it.

~Tangle Teezer ($15): I have gotten a tangle teezer in a different box, but having an extra is okay with me. It really does work to detangle your hair and is easy to travel with.

~Alterna Replenishing Moisture Milk (0.85fl.oz/25mL) ($2.94): Moisture Milk is a leave-in deep conditioning spray that hydrates and adds shine to brittle hair.  I can always use more shine and I like the smell of this.  It’s like spraying a mojito in your hair.  But I think thats a good thing.

~PIXI by Petra Glow Tonic (15mL/0.5fl.oz) ($2.21): Toners are one of my favorite skincare products.  This one is alcohol-free and isn’t harsh like some I have tried.  It just made my skin feel clean.  Over time it works to brighten your complexion because of the glycolic acid  it contains.

~Erno Laszlo Firmarine Bar Soap (0.6fl.oz / 17g) ($5.09): This little bar of soap is adorable!  It’s for your face and works into a silky foam when you use it according to the card.  I have yet to test it out, but I do know I like the smell.

~Bumble and Bumble Grooming Creme ($3): I put this in my hair immediately after I opened the box. It smoothed down the flyways and smelled fantastic.  The scent isn’t heavy, but there’s for sure something there. It reminded me of a salon smell.  In a good way.

~Voilet’s Revenge Nail Lacquer from Allure & Butter London Army Candy Collection ($7.50): I love nail polish and I love Butter London polishes, so this is fabulous.  I believe they sent out this in two shades – the either being a lighter pink, but this one is all me.

Allure Beauty Box July 2015 Subscription Box Review
Allure Beauty Box July 2015 Subscription Box

The Allure Beauty Box includes five or more deluxe sized beauty products every month. Boxes are curated by the editors of Allure magazine and also include a special-edition “mini magazine” chock full of the most trusted product reviews you’ve come to expect from Allure.  July was the first month after the switch from “Allure Sample Society” to the “Allure Beauty Box”.  Honestly had I not previously known about the change I never would have noticed anything different about this box.

A look inside.

The July 2015 Allure Beauty Box included the following items to help make your summer a little easier:

~Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer ($4.50): The scent of this isn’t overly strong, but I really like it.  This spray helps protect your hair from heat / UV damage.  You can spray it on dry hair, but as it says in the information card (and as I found out for myself) it might make your hair look greasy.  Next time I will use it on damp hair.

~Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF50 ($6): This is a setting spray that helps to seal or set your makeup and basically make sure it doesn’t melt off on those hot summer days.  I love this.  It’s got SPF so it’s ideal for summer.  If you don’t wear a moisturizer with SPF or if you don’t want to mess up your makeup by rubbing sunscreen in, this is for you.  Awesome!

~Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray ($11): Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo has been in tons of subscription boxes over the years, but I never tire of it.  It’s just a fantastic product.  Like it says on the package it doesn’t leave any white residue in your hair like some dry shampoos do.  It also smells great and it works.  It really works.  You can press snooze and stay in bed for those extra few minutes knowing you have this handy!

~Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Synchronized Complex II ($18.20): This serum helps with basically any eye issue you could have – puffiness, wrinkles, dark circles, dryness and unevenness.  I haven’t seen any changes with wrinkles or dark circles yet, but I did think it helped with puffiness and dryness. It’s super lightweight and didn’t feel greasy at all.

~Invisibobble ($8): I love the invisibobble!  It’s seriously like a phone cord (remember when phones had cord).  The information card says it needs only two loops to get any kind of hold, but I needed three to really make it stay in my hair.  I am basically obsessed with it though.  It doesn’t leave marks in your hair and my hair didn’t get all tangled in it like it does with most (all?) other hair ties.

~Estee Lauder Sumptuous Infinite Daring Length + Volume Mascara in Black (~$10): For me mascaras are all about the brush.  The brush on this one is plastic which helps makes lashes not clump.  I love it.  It didn’t irritate my eyes and I didn’t feel the need to constantly rub my eyes like I do with a lot of mascaras.  I may actually get a the full size of this!

All totaled I came up with a value of $57.70 for the July 2015 Allure Beauty Box.  I loved this box.  I can only hope that the boxes will be this fabulous going forward. For $15 this was a great value and was beyond worth it!

Did you get the July 2015 Allure Beauty Box?  What’d you think? If you are interested in ordering you can get signed up here! I believe the July box is still available so your first box will begin with this one!
